· Implementing national child protection initiatives
· Assuring the quality of responses to child protection issues.

The CPC comes under the umbrella of 'Safer Highland', a Public Protection Committee led by Chief Officers from Highland Council, NHS Highland and Northern Constabulary. The CEO of Highland Council Sponsors the CPC and the Chair of the Social Work and Housing Committee acts as Political Champion.CPC membership is at Director level. In addition there is a Delivery Group consisting of child protection leads from partner agencies, which provides a mechanism for advising Chief Officers and implementing policy.
