Two day foundation course (a fortnight apart) introducing 'The Solihull Approach' method of working with parents and carers.   The emphasis is on enabling parents to identify clearly their problem and assisting them to find practical solutions.  The principles are the same for both age ranges – the resource folders have age-appropriate material.

Target group: Public health nurses/health visitors, other health staff, children's service workers, primary mental health workers, social workers and others working on early intervention with parents experiencing difficulties.

The foundation course is a pre-requisite to a follow-on ‘Parent Group Facilitator’ training day
