Adult & Children's Services Committee 

Introduction

Governance for education and children’s services, takes place at Highland’s Adult & Children’s Services Committee. 

This has responsibility to safeguard the welfare of adults and children and to secure continuous improvement through the development, review and scrutiny of Service Plans and associated policies and strategies for the delivery of Social Care, Child Health and Education, Culture & Sport services.   This includes consideration of the integrated Children’s Services Plan – and For Highland’s Children 4, planned for early 2013, is intended to be a single plan across these various services.

The Adult & Children’s Services Committee is advised by officers of the Council, NHS Highland and 3rd and independent sectors.
